    Before the Race:
Two more weeks before my main event in 4th Borneo International Marathon, Energizer Night Race has become my last tune-in race before the event.

Before register, I already know that this week will be the highest mileage week throughout the training period. It is difficult to have good result with high mileage, so I did not particularly focus on this event, only set my target to complete the 11km within 48-50 minutes.

    During the Race:
This 11km race will have more participants than the previous small race, so I try to stand as front as possible before the race start.

8:15pm, the race start, I follow Sheela Samivellu in the beginning.

At first, I and Sheela are chasing each others, after a while, Tang Wern Tien (Pm49) join in. Three of us pace together till the finishing point of first lap, I began to slow down, leaving the two of them continue to compete.

Vincent Wong (Pm10) and Chris Chan Wai Yee crossed me after the second lap began. Originally I thought that I will run slower from here onward, but it turns out that the 5.5km participants crowd have made me more motivated, I constantly crossing them. When approaching the finishing point, I saw Tang Wern Tien and he is obviously slow down, so I decided to cross him and pia till the end.

When I reach the finishing point, nobody notice on me, and most of them are busying to give out ribbon. So I try to ask the guys who are giving out ribbon about my ranking, but he gave me a ribbon. Added the ribbon that I collected on the first lap, with a total of two ribbons in hand. I continue to move forward, and finally saw someone is checking the ribbons and giving out ranking card. He gave me a ranking card after saw me having two ribbons, is the sixth, I’m glad to be. After that I saw Tang Wern Tien take the seventh and Chris Chan is the fifth.

    After the Race:
I’m very satisfied with the result and hope that my next main event can be a persistent efforts.
