Date: 27th February 2011 (Sunday)
Venue: Kompleks PKNS, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor
Before the Race:
Firstly, I want to thank annieyee90 for helping me to register.
This was my second 10km tune-in race. Day before the race, the organizers have given us a route map after getting the bib number. To prevent the repeating regret of the previous tune-in race, after I reach home, I straight away use Google Maps to measure whether it is a 10km route. Fortunately, the results proved to be true, otherwise I’m going to give up on the race.
When I decided to join this race, I’m thinking to use it as my tempo run practice, so I’m satisfied if I can make the results under 04:40pace.
During the Race:
8am the race start. This time I start a bit slow, but fortunately, the crowd began to loose after 1km, and I can start to accelerate. At first I followed Ah Yee, Stanley Cheong (Pm53) have been 100m in front of me. 4km later, Stanley and my speed start to slow down, Ah Yee began to run away from me, and overtake Stanley too. I and Stanley has maintained a 50m distance, wanted to run faster, I’m unable to do it, wanted to slow down, watching Stanley from behind has been stimulated me to cross him. Until the last 1km, Stanley began to accelerate, I cannot do anything but to watch him run away from me slowly. Watch my timing when I cross the finishing line, 44 minutes and 11 seconds, a little surprised.
After the Race:
Few days later I find out that Stanley ranked 20th that day, I remember I was two positions behind of him, but unfortunately I did not bring a top 30 finishers medal home.
