Cari Runners II with Lai Fong Sang @ Pm38

In the beginning, I do not have any expectations in the coming race due to the poor performance of the previous relay race. My fire was back after I see Lai Fong Sang @ Pm38 of the top six teams’ prediction. He predicted annieyee90, chaucky, I and michael_wilson team will rank 6th, and he also taught us some skills.

Lai Fong Sang @ Pm38:
Ask the last leg to pace 1st leg 300-400m before finishing line. Do the same thing for the next leg.

At first I was thinking is it really useful? The last leg michael_wilson pace the first leg annieyee90 will consume his energy? The first leg annieyee90 is able to pace the second leg chaucky? All these questions have an answer when I start ran on my own.

Full route is 3.38km, over the past two 3km relay race experience tells me that not to run too fast in the first 1km, next 2km will be able to complete in good results. A lots of people run fast immediately when they received the baton, it can only last for 1km, the last 2km will be very ugly. I had repeated this mistake, the atmosphere was dizzy my head.

When I rushed after 1km, I’m trying very hard to force myself not to slow down. Then I’m thinking later when I reached the last 300-400m, whoever also able to beat me, and start to understand the intention of pacing.

When I’m resting right after I pass the baton to michael_wilson, I can see few top teams also have pacer. They must have realized the importance of pacing too.

In the end, michael_wilson came back with 39s lose by the gap between the sixth team, as of me also not satisfied with my own performance, I will be back!

Foreword(前言):
Originally, I intended to join Shape & Men’s Health Night Run 2010 to challenge that top 75 finishing medal. Unfortunately I’m unable to attend at the very late minute, that cause michael_wilson got me to participate in KLIUC Unity Run 2010. This race need to fight for finishing medal as well due to it only have 50 pieces. But this is a small race, not much fast runners, chances to get a finishing medal is not as hard as the former. Since not much fast runners, my mind naturally have the desire to win the prize.
(原本我是打算参加Shape & Men’s Health Night Run 2010以挑战那75面奖牌的。不过后来临时有事不能参加,结果就被michael_wilson拉去参加KLIUC Unity Run 2010了。这赛事也是要拼奖牌的,因为只有50面。不过这是个小型的比赛,高手不多,拼牌难度也就没有前者的高。既然高手不多,自己心中自然有想上台拿奖的欲望。)

Before the Race(比赛前):
Early in the morning, me, michael_wilson, chaucky and Shirley have reached the venue, participants also appeared continually. Only top 5 can win prizes, we started to count the fast runners. 1, 2, 3, ……, 10, 11, …… No need think, there are too many fast runners. So many “strong man” come for such a small race, it seems like many people are directed at the mentality of the opportunity to win a prize.
(我,michael_wilson,chaucky和Shirley一大早就到达比赛地点,参赛者们也陆陆续续地出现。只有前5名有奖拿,我们就开始算高手了。1,2,3,……,10,11,……。不用想了,高手太多了。一个小型的比赛既然来了那么多位“猛男”,看来很多人都是冲着有机会拿奖的心态而来。)

During the Race(比赛中):
When I ran the last 1km, I have seen some fast runners already changed their clothes and ready to go home, they should be not within top 5. I wonder if they have no regrets to attend today’s race?
(我在跑最后1km那段路时,我已经看到一些高手换好衣服准备上车回家了,他们应该是不在前5名吧。不知他们有没有后悔来参加今天的比赛呢?)

After the Race(比赛后):
The phrase said very well, “Do not participate in the competition just for winning the prize”. Today, I can be considered truly come to understand.
(“不要为了拿奖而参加比赛”,这句话说得好。我今天算是真正地体会到了。)

Foreword(前言):
July really is the run season, an average of at least one race every week. I also restrict myself to participate in 23rd Seremban Half Marathon and Shape & Men’s Health Night Run ’10, for only two races. I intend to focus on the latter’s race. I feel more challenging due to the event has limited edition medals, only the top 75 runners able to get.
(7月真的是比赛的旺季,平均每个星期都有至少一个赛事。而我也忍下心肠地限制自己,只参加23rd Seremban Half MarathonShape & Men’s Health Night Run ’10两个比赛。我打算把重心放在后者的比赛中。因为这赛事有限量版的奖牌,只有前75名有得拿,感觉比较有挑战。)

Before the Race(比赛前):
Night before the race, my friend and I have been hanging out in Port Dickson until 2am. I thought I’m going to Seremban at 4am, do not sleep will be better than sleep for 2 hours, so I chose to watch the World Cup third place battle, Germary VS Uruguay. This is a really good game, both sides is having a lot of goal. After the game at around 4am, I then proceed to Seremban to meet with坏男孩, 卧虎藏龙, Malcalm, chaucky, Shirley, 831126 and William.
(比赛前一晚我和朋友在波德申游玩,一直玩到凌晨两点多。心想我四点多便要向芙蓉出发,睡两个钟头不如别睡,所以我就选择观看世界杯季军争夺战,德国对乌拉圭。这真是一场精彩的比赛,全场双方进球不断。四点多看完球赛后,我就向芙蓉出发,和坏男孩,卧虎藏龙,Malcalm,chaucky,Shirley,831126及William会合。)

During the Race(比赛中):
Race started at 6:45am unwittingly. I’m following chaucky in the first few kilometers. There are many slopes along the way and no distance marker at all. I wouldn’t know how many kilometers I had run if chaucky didn’t have his GPS watch with him.
(比赛在6:45am不知不觉地开始了。前面几公里我都跟着chaucky跑。一路上都有很多斜坡,而且都没有距离标志。如果没有chaucky的GPS手表,我根本都不知道自己跑了多少公里。)

4km - 20min

chaucky and I run constantly with the speed of 5 minutes per kilometer. After some time, my devil call me to run easily, stop following chaucky since I’m not in a very good condition today. I slow down to do easy run myself without knowing after how many kilometers.
(我和chaucky一直保持着每公里5分钟的速度来跑。一段时间后,我的心魔就叫我别跟chaucky了,跑轻松点吧,反正我今天的状态也不是很好。也不知道几公里后,我就放慢下来自己轻松跑了。)

Time has passed 55 minutes and it should be half distance covered, but me still unable to see any distance marker. The situation of without knowing how many kilometers I had run has given me the lack of motivation to move forward. I have run 1 hour 48 minutes and 12 seconds with no objective, feel the distance is less than 21km.
(时间过了55分钟,应该有半程了,可我还是看不见任何的距离标志。这种不知道自己跑了几公里的情况确实让我缺少前进的动力。我就这样豪无目标地跑了1时48分12秒,感觉到路程好像不足21km。)

After the Race(比赛后):
After the race met Ylong Lui, that he received the Men Senior 10km sixth position, congratulate him on this.
(比赛后遇见Ylong Lui,得知他获得Men Senior 10km第六名,在此恭喜他。)

After that we go to eat curry pan mee that I long awaited for only know the shop is not open on Sunday, causing me a blank mood. Fortunately, the Kee Mei Siew Pow that May introduced is tasty, luckily still gain something.
(过后我就和大伙儿去吃我期待已久的咖喱面粉糕,怎知那家茶餐室星期日尽然没有开,害我空期待一场。还好之后去May介绍的奇美买的烧包吃起来味道不错,终算有点收获。)

以四小时内完成全程马拉松(Sub4)为目标的我,chaucky和michael_wilson自2月头的Putrajaya Night Marathon后就决定选一个早上的全马赛事来奋力一搏。毕竟早上的赛事比傍晚的赛事好跑多了,此赛事很自然地成为了我们实现目标的舞台。

备战期:
这个比赛是在4月尾的Bidor Half Marathon后开始备战,前后有两个月的时间。5月尾的adidas Sundown Marathon也是我备战的其中一部分。我万万想不到我成功提早在此备战的赛事中达成了我的目标,这也使到我报名参加此赛事的理由变得毫无意义,开始萌生弃赛的念头。还好最后我还是选择留下,也要求自己做多一次Sub4。

训练方法:
如果我说这两个月的备战期我从来都没有练过任何25km以上的Long Slow Distance(LSD),有人会相信吗?对,这是真的。我的训练方法是每天都跑,注重周里数,尽量把每周要跑的总里数平均分配在每一天的训练中。比如说我这个星期要跑80km,星期一至六我都会跑10km,星期日就来个20km。脚累时就跑慢,脚不累时就跑快。这个注重周里数的训练方法是由nayiq介绍的佐治男孩和chaucky的提点下联想出来的,我个人是觉得很有效。

佐治男孩:
Running to the Top並不像其它的書,書上沒有仔細和詳盡的訓練計劃,但有著很多很有用的理論。影響歐美以及全世界的理論,包括中長跑最重要的是練Aerobic Fitness。Aerobic Fitness跟raw speed不一樣,每個人天生的raw speed(短跑速度),可以說是不大能改變的,因爲運動時不能把身體裏的Fast-Twitch肌肉變多,只能練得強壯一點,所以練習只能對短速有錦上添花的作用。

但是Aerobic Fitness就不一樣,練習是可以一直增多Aerobic Fitness,雖然這不會是無限的增長,但除了最頂尖的跑手以外,大部分業餘跑手都可以在練習Aerobic跑中得到不斷的進步。這是一個很重要的理論,因爲800米以上的比賽都是以Aerobic System爲主,即是說,我們只要適當的練習Aerobic Fitness,中長跑就會不斷的進步。而練Aerobic System最好的方法,就是用一個不是太快的速度,跑很多,以增加每週里數。最大的結論就是,無論你是跑五千也好,跑全馬也好,你都需要跑練全馬的里數,分別只是練五千的可能會有多一點點的速度訓練而已。

暂时我也只能上到每周100km,与Mark Williams(Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010 Sub3 Pacer)的每周150km及佐治男孩的每周160km还有一段距离。

比赛:
比赛还没开始,天就下起大雨来了,前面几km都在“雨中漫步”。

15km - 1时19分46秒

路线图上说明香蕉是在16km处,实际上在14km处就派了,还好我有拿到。

20km - 1时45分04秒
21km - 1时50分22秒
25km - 2时10分39秒
30km - 2时37分04秒 - PB!

在30km处吃了Power Gel后没有特别起劲。

32km - 2时48分06秒
35km - 3时05分29秒
40km - 3时33分54秒
42.195km - 3时46分39秒 - PB!

这次没有特别在最后10km逼自己跑快。第一次全程都没有抽筋迹象。

Setia ECO 1/2 Marathon 2010

前言:
首先要谢谢iamwen和Soh Pheng给了我一个机会来参加这个赛事。这也是michael_wilson的道别赛事。跑完这个比赛后,他就要到关丹工作了。身为他的pacer,我那里能不给他一个“完美”的道别比拼?

比赛前一天:
上次Energizer Night Race 2010的额外奖金终于在前几天收到了。我,michael_wilson和chaucky之前已经说好要把这RM150 adidas cash voucher用来买一条紧身裤,希望我们能一起在四小时内完成即将来临的Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010。二话不说,我们在比赛前一晚就相约到KLCC去买了这条紧身裤。

比赛前:
一大清早我就起身载了chaucky和Shirley到Bukit Aman去和大伙儿会合,过后就跟车到Setia Alam。

比赛日新的紧身裤马上就派上用场。这条adidas紧身裤比我之前买的那条Nike紧身裤还好穿。

在比赛前,黑暗的天空已经布满了红色闪电。我心想,今天不会这样“好运”要“雨中漫步”吧?也没多理会,热热身,6:30am,比赛就开跑了。

比赛中:
平时我都是在跟michael_wilson的速度来跑,今天我就想试下用自己的速度来跑。一开始没多久,我就开始“开快车”了。chaucky见状不对就没有跟上来了。刚开始,我是打算0-10km快,11-16km休息,17-21km做最后冲刺的。不过,michael_wilson从后面的压逼感使到我跑成0-10km快,11-16km最后冲刺,17-21km休息。

10km - 40分08.19秒

一路上我都一直逼自己跑快,也现学现卖尝试了nayiq教的切线跑法一段路。中途有5分钟下大雨,使我变得更“狼狈”。一直到最后的水站16km处michael_wilson就越过我,开“Ferrari”飞走了。

16km - 1时12分

还有5km以休息的速度来跑应该能在1时42分回到去终点。当时我真的很累了,所以我就把目标放在1时45分完赛。

18km - 1时23分

最后3km看了时间后又有了想拼的念头。我就放手一搏做最后冲刺,希望能在1时40分内完成。

21km - 1时40分31秒 - PB!

比赛后:
到达终点后遇见michael_wilson才知道他以1时38分完赛,排名14,差两名就有奖杯拿了,有点可惜。chaucky则以1时45分完赛,排名25。

后来打听下才知道Cari Runners竟然有三位女将得奖,真是可喜可贺,在此恭喜她们。

前言:
这是我第一次出国参加马拉松大赛,同时这也是我人生中的第三个全程马拉松(Full Marathon 42km)。在比赛日的两个月前刚好是我的休战期,这使到我的备战期只有一个月。再加上这是个外国的比赛,比赛状态可能没那么佳。所以我就决定把此比赛当成我下个月Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010全程马拉松的练习,带着游山玩水的心情出发了。

比赛前:
下午4点左右,我就到Changi Exhibition Centre拿race pack。那时刚好遇见Ethan,谈话中才发现这比赛原来有Team Relay的,他们去年获得Mixed Team Relay第二名。我心想,今年的第一名应该是他们的了。

下午9点左右,我,vin_ann,Wind Fong和nayiq竟然在巴士上巧遇。在等巴士时,我听到一些新加坡人说去年的Sundown Marathon是在Changi Village举行,今年才换去Changi Exhibition Centre的。chaucky也有对我说过去年的Sundown Marathon后半段有很多斜坡,希望今年的不会啦。到达起跑点后热热身就和大伙儿一起开跑。

比赛中:
比赛一开始,我就尝试用自己觉得轻松的速度来跑。跑不多远就遇见nayiq,他以每公里5分钟18秒的速度在跑。我就放慢下来跟着他,以免前面太快,后面爆胎。这个速度比我在Putrajaya Night Marathon 2010跟着michael_wilson时还快。

我一直跟到18km,开始觉得不轻松,就放慢下来自己跑了。

可能是前面跑太快了,从20-30km的这段路跑得最辛苦。大部分的时间我都拿来休息以准备30km后的最后冲刺。

在31km附近我吃了香蕉后突然很起劲,加上32km处还保持在3小时内。最后的10km我告诉自己,我拚了命也要在1小时内完成。

42km - 3′56:19 - PB!
这最后的10km是我第一次这么有劲。我一直告诉自己别拿4′0x来当借口,I’m Possible,今晚我一定要在4小时内完成。最后200m看时间在3′55,我就冲着回去终点。我都不敢相信自己最后还有能力做冲刺。全程只在25km处有点抽筋迹象,25km后我就保持每个水站都喝两杯水,之前则保持每个水站都喝一杯水。

比赛后:
赛后我分析了一下,认为路线,水站和香蕉都对我起了很大的帮助。

  1. 今年Sundown Marathon的路线简直和“飞机场”没有分别,长而直,平平无奇,完全没有斜坡。
  2. 新加坡的比赛果然和马来西亚的比赛不一样,水站都有充足的水。
  3. 我真怀疑我吃的那条香蕉被放了“禁药”,我吃了之后最后的10km都很起劲。

现在我也终于明白为什么新加坡的比赛会有这么多参赛者了。

5th Malaysia International Ekiden Run

上一次的接力赛取得不错的成绩后,我,chaucky,Chen Kwok和michael_wilson四人原本打算按原班人马加一位女将来组一队Mixed Team的。由于Chen Kwok的新工作上班时间不定时,所以我们就选择了Ylong Lui和annieyee90这对外援,凑成五人来参加这次的接力赛。

Cari Runners好像突然兴起一股接力赛热潮,总动员四队Mixed Team人马来挑战这次的接力赛。最高兴就是看见“处女队”的参与,真是可喜可贺。

比赛前:
由于报名时,我们填写annieyee90跑第三棒,后来又改变主意想把她换去第二棒。可是我又太迟发现比赛条例说明,换棒次或换人需要提早通知主办当局。还好最后发现主办当局并没有特别检查棒次,我就偷偷地和annieyee90交换,变成我跑第三棒了。

当巴士载第三棒的我,大炮伦,scchan27,storm914和licici到达等候区后,我们就慌慌张张地热身去。Jassy则当起我们第三棒的摄影师,真是谢谢她。

比赛中:
8:30am左右开始有人交棒了。也没有算过了几位男将,突然不远处看见蓝衣的annieyee90来了。不错,第一位女将抵达。

接棒后,我就以中速起跑。还记得City Day Relay 2010时也是跑3km,那时前面冲太快,1.5km后就没力了。吸取了上次的教训,这次的3km我就打算前面1km以中速当热身,后面2km才来冲刺。全程跑得都算不错,一直保持着冲刺状态,共越过Mixed Team的5位男将及1位女将。只是最后100m处那段上桥斜坡慢了点,上完桥后就咬紧牙根做最后50m冲刺。要交棒给Ylong Lui时被Men Open的1位男将越过。时间:12:02.68,还算满意。

比赛后:
跑完后休息了一下就和第三棒的Cari Runners一起慢跑回终点,才跑了1km左右就到了。回来后才发现第五棒的michael_wilson已经到了,就过去向他打听下时间。总时间:1′02:07,排名第10。过后我们拍了几张合照后就回了。

Bidor Half Marathon 2010

这是我第二个外州的比赛,相比我的第一次外州跑,这次可说是热闹得多了。

比赛日期落在4月25日。刚好4月7日至15日我出国游玩,9天的休息日是有点过长了。16日至25日这10天我又只跑了1次,你说我是不是等着去送死?心想外州跑也很难保持自己的最佳状态,就当作去玩玩算了。

比赛当天:

我们Cari Runners在阴差阳错下排在最前面起跑。一开始,chaucky和michael_wilson就不见了。心想以我最近的状态应该没能追上他们的了,所以我就选择自己跑。

前面几公里遇见Wind Fong。他提醒我这条跑道后半段充满斜坡,我也就保守点跑了。

跑不多远后遇见HuMoR+DkNy和scchan27,我就插在他们中间喊一声“Cari Runners”后越过他们。:P

100米后,大约4公里处,我竟然遇见chaucky和michael_wilson,chaucky还跟我说了一声“Welcome Back!”。心想他们怎么这么慢,难道在留力?我从4公里跟他们至7公里,当时是35分钟,平均每公里5分钟,原来是我自己跑快了。过后我就放慢下来,没有跟了。

HuMoR+DkNy和scchan27一直保持在chaucky和michael_wilson的100米后面。

我终于在8公里处出状况了,右小腿有抽筋迹象。还有13公里呢,我应该放弃比赛吗?算了,我还是慢慢跑回去吧。11公里处,时间还保持在1小时内。

原本打算一直以这个步伐慢慢跑回去完成sub2的,怎知12公里处第二个状况来了。左胸痛,好像胸骨插到肺那样,痛到不得了。平路还好,上下坡时超级痛。此痛终于逼到我走路了。我应该放弃比赛吗?算了,我还是跑下走下那样死回去吧。

结果我还是完成比赛了,时间:02:19:03,名次:117。这很明显是缺乏练习的后遗症,警惕自己别再重犯了。

跑后感:

慢跑时受到很多人的鼓励和慰问,有被感动到,谢谢Cari Runners。

勤劳=快脚,懒惰=慢脚,就是这么简单。
